Overview

Botswana Open University is seeking a self-motivated, solution-driven individual to join our multicultural team as a Librarian. This role is essential in maintaining high-quality library and resource services for our students, staff, and the broader community while contributing to academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities

-Oversee and manage all library and resource centre operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.

-Develop and implement innovative strategies to improve library operations, ensuring alignment with global best practices.

-Supervise and mentor library staff to foster a high-performance work environment.

-Provide research assistance and explore innovative tools to enhance library services and user experience.

-Advise stakeholders on copyright, intellectual property, and compliance issues.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education:
  • Degree in Library and Information Services or equivalent.
  • Master’s Degree in Library and Information Services is preferred.
• Experience:
  • At least six years in a computerised library and information services environment, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
