VACANCY: Extra Heavy Duty Drivers (Import/Export)

1. Transportation of Goods:

0 Safely operate extra heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, flatbeds) for the

transportation of imported and exported goods.

o Plan and follow efficient routes for timely deliveries, considering factors like road

conditions, traffic, and regulations.

2. Load Management:

o Load and unload cargo, ensuring secure placement to prevent damage during transit.

0 Inspect vehicle and cargo prior to departure, verifying load weight and balance.

3. Compliance and Documentation:

o Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including freight bills, customs documents, and shipping manifests.

o Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international transport regulations and safety standards.

o Complete and submit necessary documentation for customs clearance and other import/export processes.

4. Vehicle Maintenance:

o Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or required repairs.

o Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, adhering to company standards.

5. Customer Interaction:

o Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse staff to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues.

o Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely and professional delivery.

6. Safety and Training:

o Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while driving and handling cargo.

o Participate in training programs for safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

7. Problem-Solving:

- Address and resolve any issues that arise during transportation, including delays, vehicle malfunctions, or documentation discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or

transportation management preferred.

Licensing: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with endorsements for heavy-duty vehicles.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a heavy-duty driver, preferably in import/export logistics.

Skills:

o Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and import/export procedures.

o Excellent driving record with a commitment to safety.

o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

o Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:

-Ability to lift heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.

-Capacity to work in varying weather conditions and long hours.

Working Conditions:

-The position may involve long-distance travel and overnight stays.

-Extended hours may be required during peak shipping seasons.
